A recently completed water study by the Ontario Government rates LAKE NIPISSING as a very clean lake. There are no industrial plants on this lake and the water shed is clean and undeveloped. It's a warm climate in the summer and more moderate in the winter than northerly areas such as Temagami, where winters last a month and a half longer overall. LAKE NIPISSING combines scenery that is like five lakes in one. Picture a rectangle with large bodies of water off each corner. The West Arm, like Haliburton has high relief with lots of little bays. The French River area is as rugged, rocky and open as Georgian Bay. Callander Bay is low relief with deciduous trees and marsh much like the Kawarthas. South Bay is Muskoka-like with Islands, sheltered from the main lake, hydro and phone lines on all properties including islands. The main body of the lake is like Lake Simcoe, with miles and miles of vacant shoreline to explore. Hunting, Fishing, swimming, Skiing, golf, Snowmobiling and privacy all within 20 minutes of North Bay with its Urban services (Hospitals, Shopping Centres, Entertainment). The ideal compromise in lifestyle.
